It is a manual therapy based on the theory that the body is capable of healing itself provided with the proper components of health, that structure and function are interrelate: if a joint is not properly aligned it may cause pain and dysfunction in other area of the body.

It is a manual therapy based on the theory that the body is capable of healing itself provided with the proper components of health, that structure and function are interrelate: if a joint is not properly aligned it may cause pain and dysfunction in other area of the body.

The body is considered to be a functional unit so that all of its systems must be operating together in harmony for optimum health. Osteopathy treats the whole person not just pain and symptoms.

Its goal is to restore equilibrium between structure and function. The initial session includes a thorough health history interview and postural analysis during this the therapist will narrow down the areas which need to be addressed during treatment.

Specific tests and techniques are then performed to remove any restrictions and restore the vitality of the affected tissues. Techniques are varied and can include some or all of the following:

myofascial counter-strain
muscle energy
cranial osteopathy
osteoarticular (gentle joint mobilization)
